Microneedles for drug delivery
Microneedles are <1-mm sized needles that can delivery drugs minimally-invasively by penetrating the stratum corneum of the skin. The biggest advantage of microneedles is pain-free delivery of drugs to the skin. We are interested in developing low-cost microneedles for self-application in rural settings.
3D Printing of microneedles using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA) and Selective laser sintering (SLS) printers.
Microneedle fabrication using biocompatible polymers
Characterization using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Brightfield microscopy, UV-Vis Spectroscopy and other techniques.
